The Enlightened Eye App was developed to allow visitors to Liskeard & District Museum to learn and explore the local Geology in a fun way. Once a museum volunteer had moderated the content is was synchronised to the enlightened-eye website via a swipe of a smart (RFID) card.
More about the Enlightened Eye installation designed by Jason Cleverly.
Alongside the Enlightened Eye a large wall mounted acrylic printed geological cross-section used capacitive touch sensors to light up LEDs and play videos explaining the local geology.
Downstairs a bespoke Kiosk was developed to annotate a collection of historical paintings by Jane Stanley, which were commissioned for the museum by Curator Anna Monks.
I designed and coded the three bespoke apps in each of the installations.
- Bespoke drawing app for the 'Enlightened Eye', with RFID content moderation and image uploads to the WordPress based gallery
- Bespoke capacitive touch 'Rock Beneath our Feet' video wall
- Traditional touch screen app for the kiosk downstairs.
Those projects were funded by Caradon Hill Area Heritage Project and Falmouth University.
